I do my best to live out loud in the space where work, life, service, and exploration (food, travel, people!) intersect. I love designing the strategy that makes ideas happen for and with big thinking people and organizations, and they love how I pull together pieces of a future vision into an actionable plan when we work together. At the end of the day, what they really get is clarity, focus, excitement, and energy. Because, I’m more than just a strategist. I’m an activator and shift-maker. Making ideas happen is hard work and is totally worth it because as I create for and with others, I also enjoy creative freedom, connection, and fulfillment for myself along the way. I want to live in a world where self-defined success is achieved, giving back is a way of life, and every day is treated like a holiday, every meal like a feast, and every paycheck like a fortune.
Troll-Busters.com is a just –in-time service for women journalists who are targets of online harassment. We provide positive messaging and just-in-time education on how targets can protect themselves online and off in the event of an attack. Female journalists, female scholars, and politicians all are targets of online attacks, particularly by those trolls that threaten harm or subject their targets to violent content. There are personal short and long term consequences of troll behavior on the target that include emotional distress, financial distress, technological attack and physical harm. Troll activity also may cause a chilling or silencing effect women and women of color as they avoid topics and digital activities that may provoke troll activity.
All of my work is focused on a more inclusive communications and media ecosystem that reflects our diverse world.
How You Can Help:
We are building monitoring tools that will allow us to be more responsive to online activity. Using natural language processing and machine learning, we hope to identify and address online harassment in real time. We need money to build that technical support.
