Big Fit Girl
I am a plus-size trainer, athlete, author and social entrepreneur on a mission to change the way women are portrayed in fitness and sport media and advertising. My driving force is to change the game to include more body-size diversity in our fitness landscape so that every “body” can realize their highest, individual, athletic potential.
My passion project is a mini-documentary called: Big Fit Girl. The primary objective of the project is to show the world that size diversity is prevalent at most sporting events and finish lines, yet marginalized in mainstream media and advertising. Generally, fitness media and advertising celebrates women size 6 and under, leaving millions of women on the sidelines of fitness and sport. My mini-doc will showcase the stories and successes of size-diverse fitness enthusiasts and athletes, including Olympians, Ironman finishers, marathoners, competitors and everyday athletes. Since seeing is believing, women of all shapes and sizes will see themselves represented, offering them inspiration to liberate their inner athlete.
Representation of diverse women is greatly lacking in fitness and sport media. Big Fit Girl is poised to disturb the status quo, offering an accurate portrayal. We are ready to move a nation off the sidelines cultivating healthy self-esteem, better body image and good health – for every, single, body.
How You Can Help:
Big Fit Girl needs support by way of funding. This could come from an Executive Producer or direct donations of funds or time via filmmaking expertise. The Big Fit Girl documentary would greatly benefit from sponsorship via relationship introductions to brands that align with our mission to change our media landscape. We welcome those who believe in the power of sweat, endorphins and victory – for all.
