Tammy & Christen

 She's the First

Meet Tammy & Christen:

We're co-founders of She's the First, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to girls in low-income countries, with the goal of creating first-generation graduates and our next generation of global leaders. Tammy heads up strategy, development, and communications as Christen oversees programming. We have 712 Scholars worldwide and 193 high school/college campus chapters.

Tammy & Christen's Passions:

Tammy is galvanizing everyone to dare to change their hair color, cut or style on April Fools' Day - if their friends and family help them reach their goal to sponsor a girl's education! And if the campaign overall raises $25,000 this month, rumor has it Tammy and Christen are swapping hair colors... Check it out at shesthefirst.org/daremyhair, #DareMyHair.

Christen is creating connections between donors and She's the First Scholars. When you raise $400 or more, you are matched with a specific STF Scholar in one of our 11 partner countries, whom you're supporting with 100% of your contribution. Find out what it means to be a sponsor (Talk to Jess is one!) at shesthefirst.org/sponsor-a-girl.

How to help:

2. Take action: Our #DareMyHair campaign is live, or see other ways to support at shesthefirst.org/donate

3. Be inspired: We'll leave you with the words of STF Scholar Deepa from Nepal, who wrote a girl power poem, which you can read and watch her recite here: http://www.shesthefirst.org/poem
