Are You Sending Mixed Messages?

Posted on 14 June 2010

Dear Jess,

There are a couple guys at school whom I like, and there’s also one at church. Some days, I’ll feel like I really only like one, but then the next day, I like the other! How do I decide which one to focus on? Or am I supposed to just “go with the flow?” Is it even okay to like more than one guy at once?

I Have No Friends…What Should I Do?

Posted on 10 June 2010

Dear Jess,

People in my class make fun of me because I’m too small for my age, or because I’m ugly. I have to admit, I am. I have no friends at school, and even if I try to make one, it never works. I sometimes feel like everyone in my class hates me, and I’m not sure what to do — to change, or not to change? Please help.

Overweight And Not Feeling Pretty

Posted on 04 June 2010

I’m a really big fan! I’ve never been happy with my body. I never feel pretty, I’m overweight and I want guys to like me and I want to be happy, healthy and confident but it just seems like it’s impossible because I don’t have much time to exercise any advice? -Gabbi

Dear Gabbi,

Thanks for your support! We all have days when we’re not happy with our body but we have to learn that in order for others to like us, we have to learn to love ourselves! It’s so important for you to know how beautiful you truly are! It’s hard to break the cycle of constantly thinking you’re not pretty, but it’s well worth the effort!

“No Offense” Always Offensive?

Posted on 27 May 2010

Dear Jess,

I’m 5′5″ and 122 lbs and recovering from an eating disorder (none of my friends know) but today this girl out of nowhere said, “No offense but you don’t look anorexic at all.” I’m really upset that she would say that to me. I’m a ballet dancer with her, and I’m scared she was implying that I’m fat. Should I be worried about this?
